Where Is It Used?
Closed-cell spray foam insulation is ideal for moisture-prone and tight structural areas throughout a home, particularly basements, foundation walls, and rim joists where concrete absorbs groundwater. It creates an impermeable vapor barrier directly against masonry, stopping dampness, cold drafts, and mold growth before they enter the living space. It is also widely used in 2x4 exterior wall cavities and roof decks where space is limited and maximum thermal protection is required. By applying it to the underside of the roof sheathing, it converts attics into conditioned spaces while preventing winter ice dams and structural wood rot.
